Description
Understand the agri-food system from a global and local perspective. This course will also allow you to learn about the policy responses that have emerged to address the challenges and opportunities presented by this vital sector of the economy.
During the course you will explore the magnitude and complexity of the agri-food system, addressing its scope at both the national and international levels. The production, distribution and consumption chains will be analysed, as well as the interrelationship between the different actors involved, from farmers to final consumers.
Subsequently, you will be able to delve into the specificities that characterise agri-food markets, such as the seasonality of products, price volatility, and health and quality regulations. Consumer trends and changing consumer demands in an increasingly globalised environment will also be examined.
The course will also address the policy responses that have emerged to address the specificities of the agri-food sector. Agricultural policies implemented at the national, regional and global levels will be analysed, assessing their effectiveness in promoting sustainability, food security and equity in the value chain.
In this context, the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) will be explored in detail, examining how it has evolved over time and how it affects the competitiveness of agri-food companies. Its objectives, instruments and effects in terms of production, prices and agricultural trade will be analysed, as well as its impact on the diversification and modernisation of the sector.

Methodology
ENAE uses an active and participative methodology, ‘learning by doing’, which alternates the presentation of concepts, techniques and analysis methods with the development of practical cases reflecting real business situations.
By promoting teamwork, the aim is to achieve the integration of all members and to resolve the cases presented more effectively, through the exchange of different points of view, opinions and experiences. Students will learn from the trainers but also from the professional experiences of their classmates.
